What’s On The Share? What have I been READING??

I’m just going to say I am a slow reader. Where it takes others two days to finish a book I may take-up to two weeks. However I am getting quicker “YAY ME!!”

So here’s the big question,

What have I been reading??

I just finished (not an ebook but a paperback) A Perfect Match In Silver Leaf Falls. Look at this beautiful signed author copy!! This was such an amazing gift.

I loved this story!!

What the book is about:

Description

She’s always been his best friend’s little sister—until he set her up on a date with someone else.

Chloe Conrad loves nothing more than baking beautiful cakes. But now that Chloe’s Cakes is the go-to dessert shop in Silver Leaf Falls, she’s beginning to long for something sweeter in her life than fondant and frosting. It doesn’t help that her only single friend in town is the guy she secretly crushed on for years – her brother’s best friend, Dax.

Dax Sudduth moved back to Silver Leaf Falls after an injury ended his rodeo career. Now, he spends his days running Silver Leaf Stables and making a name for himself as a horse trainer. When an old rodeo buddy comes in search of a new horse, Dax introduces him to his friend, Chloe. She’s seemed a little down lately and he thought spending time with Ace might cheer her up.

But Dax finds himself more than a touch jealous when Ace dates Chloe. Maybe she’s more to him than an annoying little girl who eventually became a friend. But even if he admits his feelings, she’s still his best friend’s little sister. Worst of all, Dax might have missed his shot by introducing her to Ace.

What I thought of the story: (side note- I do not write long reviews, I’m not going to recap the description and will never giveaway fun moments or spoilers to any book I read.)

Is this a quarter-life crisis, or the breakthrough she’s always needed?

Maggie Eckland is on a mission to finally take control of her life. Her mother has been dictating her every decision – what she eats and who she dates. Now, Maggie is willing to do whatever it takes to break free, even if that means hiring a life coach and moving to Los Angeles.

When struggling musician, Chase Smith, sees a sweet brunette scribbling lists in a notebook, he can’t help but go talk to her. Charmed by Maggie’s authenticity, Chase agrees to help her complete her life coach’s assignment: discover what she really loves by trying ten new things.

From new foods to unique experiences, Maggie begins to uncover her true self—which happens to include growing feelings for Chase. As his musical career takes off, sparks begin to ignite between them. But on the eve of a big opportunity, Chase is forced to leave LA—causing Maggie to make an impulsive decision that could change everything.

As past hurts and fresh truths catch up with them, Maggie and Chase must answer the question: Can you really create the life you want, or are you destined to follow the path laid out for you?

Description

From the Back Cover

Boudreaux the Louisiana Mosquiteaux is very young and he is so hungry, especially since the hurricane swept him away from his family. Will the other residents of the swamp be able to tell him what he should eat? What will the alligator say? Does a frog know what a mosquito should eat? How about the turtle or the kitten?Author Stacy Bearden’s buzzy baby mosquito will entertain children with the many questions he asks. Alliteration and repetition are just right for little ears and provide a thrilling way for kids to experience verse for the first time.

Product Description

This baby mosquito is in for the meal of his life!

Swept away by a hurricane shortly after his birth, Boudreaux the mosquito has one biting question that needs to be answered: what are mosquitos supposed to eat? Across the swamps of Louisiana he goes, determined to find a breakfast fit for a pest. Unfortunately for Boudreaux, not a single animal is able to help: The alligator tells him to ask the wolf, who tells him to ask the bear, who tells him to ask the wild hog. Before he knows it, Boudreaux has exhausted his wings buzzing from one ear to the next, and he’s still no closer to finding his first meal! He finally receives a very intriguing answer . . . but what will become of Boudreaux when he tests this theory?

Side note: Not everyone will like the ending but if you live where mosquitoes live then you’ll understand.

This book was purchased for our daughter (a gift from daddy) by the author. It is also a signed copy.
